I am a monk under St. Benedicts rule. He has a very strict way of living. You cannot have any wants, and you may have needs. St. Benedict also said no talking unless necessary. He has a saying ora et labora. This means pray and work. Monks have a hard life. They have to sleep on bare ground. They can’t have a pillow or a blanket, and the monks also can’t have any heat for the winter or any cool air for the summer. They have fruit and bread for every meal of the day, and they have wine to drink at meals.
The monks and I have tried to poison his drink. When he got up to go to the bathroom I slipped a poison pill into his wine. I was thinking to myself. Is this the best idea, I didn’t have time to think this because St. Benedict was coming back. I thought about saying something. I decided against it. As he sat down and bumped the table. He spilled the wine, and I bent down and cleaned up the wine. I went into the kitchen, and told the monks that the plan had failed.
I went to my room and pondered what had happened. Should I really be trying to kill the person that helped get our society together? I would be charged with homicide and I would feel Indignant. I thought about helping him. The monks would be furious with me, and they would also try to poison my wine. If I try to kill him again the monastery will go into chaos and people would fight for the title of head monk. I could be a double agent! This is a great idea. I will put the poison in the bread then turn into a dove and take the bread.
I went and told the monks that I would help them. I slipped the poison into the warm bread. I brought it to St. Benedict. I whispered in his ear, “don’t eat the bread”. They I walked into the next room. I transformed into a dove. I flew into the next room and took the bread. I dropped it just outside the walls of the monastery. I flew back and turned into a human. We went to the room where all the monks were resting. We told them that he was leaving with all the books and all the monks that didn’t know about the poison. We left with six monks and twelve bags filled with books. We stopped and opened twelve new monasteries.
I was St. Benedicts most trusted monk. No one could touch him because I was always there to block the blade. He survived for along as god permitted him to. He did 547 AC. He told me to live life to its fullest and ora et labora. I was so broken that I couldn’t even pick up all the pieces of my heart. I went forward in time to New York City. I sat down and cried all day. Then I got a call from the C.I.A. They wanted me to do a film on St. Benedict and his rule.
Awesome. It really goes in depth, and I love how you were the one who saved Saint Benedict. You'll have no trouble in that film.
